Professionals, creators, and businesses continue to get new ways to stand out on LinkedIn. This week’s updates include newsletters now open to all members, AI support for job postings, new options to sponsor event content, expanding BrandLink ads with short-form video and pre-rolls, plus refreshed announcement animations to make career milestones shine even brighter. Here’s a closer look at the latest tools shaping visibility and engagement on the platform.
LinkedIn Newsletters for All + SMB Premium Perks in Testing
The platform continues to expand its publishing and business tools, now making newsletters accessible to all members regardless of follower count. Until now, the format was limited to profiles with at least 150 followers.
With that mode retired last year, every individual user can now experiment with newsletters, tapping into a format that already shows strong momentum: a 59% increase in newsletter creators and a 47% boost in engagement over the past year. Company pages will still need 150+ followers to access the feature, but for personal profiles the barrier is gone.
At the same time, LinkedIn is testing a new “Premium Business Suite” subscription tailored for small and medium businesses. Beyond the usual Premium benefits, this package would include product/service spotlights, the ability to invite page visitors to follow, and most notably $50 in monthly ad credits to boost posts.
Another planned addition is “top prospect conversations”, designed to surface relevant discussions that SMBs can join to reach target audiences more directly. While still in early testing, the bundle signals LinkedIn’s push to provide SMBs with easier, more cost-effective ways to increase visibility and engage decision-makers.
Post-Level Analytics: Rolling Insights on Followers and View

The biggest B2B social media has expanded its post analytics with rolling updates that notify users how posts perform over time. According to Gyanda Sachdeva, VP of Product Management, members will now see alerts when posts drive profile visits, new followers, or impressions not just at posting, but also at the 3- and 7-day marks.
The update builds on LinkedIn’s refreshed analytics from earlier this year, adding direct visibility in the notifications stream and making insights easier to access. It’s part of LinkedIn’s broader creator push, offering better feedback loops and incentives to publish at a time when the platform is becoming the go-to space for business conversations.
AI-Assisted Job Summaries Expand to More Regions
AI-generated job summaries are now more widely accessible, helping recruiters create listings that highlight key skills and align with recommendation systems. Previously limited to the U.S. and Canada, the feature is now available in more regions, including India, the platform’s third-largest market. Using inputs like job title, location, company, and workplace type, the AI drafts summaries that save time while ensuring job postings resonate with the right candidates.

These AI-generated descriptions are assistive, not a replacement for human insight. Recruiters still need to review and edit listings to ensure accuracy, but the tool streamlines the process and encourages a skills-based approach. As LinkedIn continues to expand its AI-powered capabilities, this update reinforces the platform’s focus on improving efficiency and alignment between job postings and talent discovery.
Brands Can Now Sponsor User Posts for LinkedIn Events
Thought Leader Ads are being expanded with a new option that allows businesses to sponsor any member’s post linking to a LinkedIn event. Marketers can select posts from executives, employees, creators, or industry experts, with the creator’s permission, to amplify upcoming sessions directly in Campaign Manager.

This move leverages the influence of individual voices to boost engagement: B2B marketers have seen 1.6x higher engagement with Thought Leader Ads compared to single-image promotions, and the volume of Live Video events on LinkedIn rose 15.3% in 2024. By combining event promotion with user-generated content, brands can increase visibility and generate more interest in their sessions, while benefiting from the broader reach of trusted voices within their networks.

LinkedIn Expands BrandLink Ads with New Shows and Trusted Voices
The professional network is growing its BrandLink ad placement program, allowing brands to place video ads alongside publisher and influencer content to boost reach and trust. Originally focused on publisher content as “The Wire,” BrandLink now integrates exclusive professional shows, including Small Business Builders (AT&T), Founder’s Blueprint (IBM), AI in Action (SAP), and The CEO Playbook (ServiceNow). Additional publishers like BBC Studios, TED, The Economist, and Vox Media are also joining the program, offering more opportunities to align brand messaging with trusted voices.

This expansion responds to LinkedIn’s research showing that, despite AI tools, professionals still value human insight most. Nearly two-thirds of professionals say colleagues help them decide faster and more confidently, while 77% of B2B marketing leaders report that audiences rely on networks, not just brand channels, to vet information.
With Millennials and Gen Z comprising 71% of B2B buyers, BrandLink’s approach ensures brands can reach decision-makers through content endorsed by experts and influencers, combining reach, trust, and relevance for more effective campaigns.
Pre-roll ads are now appearing on select publisher and creator videos, letting brands run short 15-second spots or sponsor exclusive shows with in-content branding. This approach taps trusted voices to reach target audiences and boost engagement with video content.
Fresh Animations for Professional Announcements
Professional updates are getting a visual boost with 16 new celebration animations now available for posts about new jobs, milestones, projects, or anniversaries. From blooming flowers to sparkling fireworks, these refreshed visuals replace the older, overused GIFs, giving members more stylish ways to share their achievements. The result: a fresher, more eye-catching feed where important career moments stand out even more.
