LinkedIn continues to refine both how professionals experience the platform and how they navigate their careers. This week, the company introduced new ways to tackle spam and AI-generated content while releasing fresh labor market insights that highlight where hiring is accelerating across the United States.
LinkedIn Is Reportedly Rolling Out a Way to Block Comments from Company Pages
A small but highly requested feature appears to be making its way to LinkedIn. According to a comment from LinkedIn Product Manager Leigh Shapiro, the platform has started rolling out the ability to block future comments from specific Company Pages. Users who have access to the feature can open the three-dot menu next to a company comment and select “Block comments from this Page.”

While LinkedIn has not yet made an official announcement, the update is expected to help combat one of the platform’s most common frustrations: automated promotional comments posted by Company Pages under popular content.
Importantly, this isn’t about blocking companies altogether. Most Company Pages contribute valuable conversations on LinkedIn, but the feature targets those that repeatedly exploit automation or spam-like tactics to increase visibility.
If rolled out broadly, it would give creators much greater control over their comment sections while helping preserve more authentic discussions across the platform.
LinkedIn Introduces “Feels Like AI Slop” Reporting
As we mentioned in the last LinkedLetter, LinkedIn has a challenge: the rapid increase of AI-generated posts. And now, the platform is taking another step in its fight against them.
In a recent video, CEO Daniel Shapero announced that members will soon be able to report posts that “feel like AI slop.” Rather than simply removing content, LinkedIn will use these reports to improve its AI detection systems while also providing private feedback to creators through their analytics dashboard.
If enough members flag a post, the creator will see that users felt the content appeared overly AI-generated, giving them an opportunity to improve future posts without being publicly called out.
Shapero also revealed another important change. LinkedIn is shifting away from AI tools designed to generate posts from scratch and instead will focus on AI that proofreads and edits content. The company believes AI can help refine writing, but not replace the original ideas and personal experiences that make professional content valuable.
The announcement reinforces LinkedIn’s broader direction. Over the past few months, the platform has introduced AI classifiers to reduce the visibility of low-quality AI content, and these latest updates continue that effort. As generative AI becomes more common, LinkedIn appears determined to reward authentic expertise and original perspectives rather than mass-produced content.
LinkedIn Reveals the Fastest-Growing Cities for Career Opportunities
LinkedIn has released its annual 2026 Cities on the Rise ranking, highlighting the 25 fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the United States for hiring, career growth, and incoming talent.
Rather than focusing on traditional career hubs like New York or San Francisco, this year’s rankings show momentum shifting toward mid-sized cities where affordability, quality of life, and expanding industries are attracting both employers and professionals.
The top five cities include Augusta (Georgia), Richmond (Virginia), Reno (Nevada), North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota (Florida), and Harrisburg (Pennsylvania). You can also find more detailed information about each city released by LinkedIn here.

The report also reflects changing workforce priorities. According to LinkedIn, two-thirds of professionals say they work to live, not live to work, while nearly 80% feel unprepared to navigate today’s job market. As a result, choosing the right city is becoming just as strategic as choosing the right employer.
For professionals considering relocation, LinkedIn’s rankings provide a data-driven view of where hiring is accelerating and where industries such as AI, healthcare, manufacturing, semiconductors, logistics, and technology are creating new opportunities.
